Notes: This place is great. They have a safe home option for you and your pet. They also have domestic advocates and a number of other services that they can provide that help you along the way. ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP WITH HOUSING! While this wonderful resource does provide housing, they cannot guarantee it and will have to do an intake upon your arrival. As a domestic violence victim, this always made me nervous because I didn’t know if my kids and I would have a place to sleep. I always had a backup place to sleep. I never slept in my car for fear that he would try to use that against me if I had.

Notes: While I never personally used this resource, I have worked with other victims of domestic abuse, and they used this resource to help them with their situation. They are a 24/7 service which includes emergency shelter, case management, therapy and children’s programming and housing assistance. Again, I would always suggest having a backup for a place to sleep because unfortunately there are far too many victims of domestic abuse and not very many resources especially in our small rural communities.
